Vehicle Readiness Checklist
There are a number of things you can do to help get your vehicle ready for transport safely and as quickly as possible:
Vehicle Transportation Requirements:
| You or your designated representative must be present for the inspection at the time of pick-up and delivery. Customer warrants that they are the registered legal owner of the vehicle(s), or that it has been authorized by the legal owner to enter into this Agreement for Transport. | ||
| One set of ALL keys for the vehicle must be provided. This includes ignition, trunk and glove box keys. | ||
| We must have working phone numbers where you may be reached throughout the duration of your vehicle relocation. | ||
| The vehicle must be clean. A clean vehicle increases the ability to perform a quality inspection. | ||
| You should photograph vehicle conditions, prior to loading and after off-loading, for your records. This will assist in any damage claim. | ||
| Your vehicle's condition, at pickup and delivery, will be recorded on the Bill of Lading. You or your designated representative must sign the Bill of Lading at both origin and destination. This confirms your agreement with vehicle conditions. |
Preparing Your Car for Shipment
| Your vehicle must be operable. If it is not, additional fees will apply. | ||
| The vehicle must have no obvious fluid leaks. | ||
| Your battery must be secure in the mounting bracket with no leaks. | ||
| The gas tank must have a minimum of one eighth (1/8) tank of fuel, but no more than one quarter (1/4) tank of fuel. | ||
| All alarm systems must be disconnected, disabled, or turned off. If there are special instructions necessary to disarm the alarm, please inform the driver at time of pickup. | ||
| Your vehicle must be prepared for the new climate. Please check all fluids including antifreeze, transmission oil, and other fluids. | ||
| All antennas must be fully retracted or removed. | ||
| Radios, cassette decks or CD players not built in, car phones, garage door openers, cell phones, radar detectors, etc. must be removed. | ||
| All personal belongings must be removed except standard vehicle items such as the jack and spare tire. Department of Transportation does not allow personal items to be transported on auto carriers and these are not covered by insurance. | ||
| Any tears in convertible tops should be sealed or repaired to prevent further damage by air during transit. | ||
| All exterior spare tire covers, grill covers, or car covers must be removed. | ||
| Loose parts or specialty items such as spoilers, fog lights, or mirrors should be removed or secured properly for transport. | ||
| Some pre-existing conditions may become worse during transport. Windshield nicks can expand and poorly secured parts can loosen. We are not responsible for such conditions. | ||
| Spoilers, fairing, air dams or other low hanging items should be removed to allow for proper loading and unloading. | ||
| Non-permanent luggage racks, bike racks, or ski racks must be removed. |
Preparing Your Motorcycle for Transport
| Drain fuel tank as low as possible to prevent leaks. | ||
| Remove all personal items from saddlebags, under-seat storage and any other storage compartments. | ||
| Secure all accessories such as saddlebags and windshields, to the motorcycle. Helmets will be shipped only if they are secured to the motorcycle. |
